Joint Winner!!!!!

Oh my goodness!!!

I was a joint winner on the Song lyrics challenge, i'm so chuffed.  Who would have thought, my work was good enough to actually be chosen as joint first???

The competition was extremely high, and ALL the other entries were equally as precious to the owners as mine was to me, the song certainly touched people x

I can't wait for the next challenge now, not because I want to win, but because these challenges bring out the best in people and I can't wait to see all the new creations x

Song lyrics Challenge - Cupboard Trilogy

Well, here I go again with another challenge.  I had to do this challenge as the subject is very dear to me, I used a much treasured photo, that I keep in a frame, close to my bed.  It is the last photo that was ever taken of me, with my wonderful Dad, before he died.
It took me right out of my comfort zone, as usually, I am a very plain and straight lines type of scrapper, and always air on the side of caution when it comes to LO's, but I really wanted to do my Dad proud, and I actually really like the finished product.  It will now be placed in a 12 x 12 frame and wall mounted.

There is secret journalling behind the photo which reads:

My Hero

Sadly my Dad passed away on the 4th May 2006.
It was my daughter Amy’s 8th birthday.
He died from Primary Cancer of the Lungs
and Secondary Cancer of the Brain.

I chose to do this subject for my challenge,
because my Dad loved life,
and all the people and objects associated with it,
he was always the first one up on anyone’s birthday,
and Christmas, waiting with an excited smile and a silly hat.
He was a very social person, and made friends
wherever he went, be it a party or a trip to the supermarket.
My Dad could make a friend, sitting in the car,
with the doors locked and all the windows shut.
It was his smile that made people talk to him,
it was one of those smiles that comes from the heart.

I chose it because he really was ‘My Hero’ and I told him often.

This was the last photo of me taken with my Dad,
before he died.

He died a week after this photo was taken.

Love and miss you always x

I hope you like it!

Here's what I created at the crop last friday....

My GoGo Getaway Badge.

It's a desktop pen/scissors/ruler ect...tidy, which can also double as a bin, for all those annoying little bits of paper and ribbon and stuff that gets stuck to the glue/doublesided tape and ruins your artwork!

Debs a GoGo

Well, what can I say, another year has passed and i'm getting all excited about the Scrapagogo Retreat that is coming up at the end of the month.  I learnt last night that i'd made all my first choices in the classes we were offered, so i'm such a happy bunny now.

Here's where it is all happening:

Theobalds Park combines the elegance and grandeur of a Georgian mansion house with modern Bed & Breakfast facilities.  Set mongst 55 acres of beautifully landscaped parkland grounds you will find a Tree House meeting room prominently positioned in front of the Old Mansion House and constructed between two mature oak trees.

Keep Calm and Happy Birthday.......

A card I made for a challenge.  Sadly, I didn't win, but I do like the card, so still a winner really!

Spring has sprung!

What a gorgeous Day!

The sunshine definitely brings out the crafter in me, it makes me want to create beautiful things that will replicate the happyness that the sunshine brings.  Spring is about new things, I wonder what new things i'll create at the crop friday................

Wednesday 15 February 2012

I had a wonderful time creating this card for challenge to commemorate the designer of the heart stamp you can see in this picture.  She was a wonderful lady called Sarah Lawrence who suddenly died in December 2011.  I am looking forward to seeing all the entries and how they have all met the challenge of this gorgeous stamp.

I hope I have done her proud!

Lushious droolings!

Wowsers, look at this amazing kit that I happen to subscribe to.  Go take a looksie at https://www.facebook.com/?ref=tn_tnmn#!/DuckPondCrafts ~It is a small selection of what comes in the kit, but i've stolen the picture and hopefully our lovely Karen (Karen Gallacher - Owner of Duck Pond Weddings, and the monthly Card and Blooms Kits) Won't mind!!

I'll post pictures later with some items i've made, using the many kits, i've received before.  They really are amazing value, and i've yet to find another with such a variety of blooms, charms, hatpins, ribbons, papers and lots of yummy lushiousness!

I'm biased, but.........

Trust me, you'll never be more happy to part with your money.........
